Joining a Union
Actors who wish to obtain Union-based work commonly are members of SAG-AFTRA and/or Actor's Equity. These unions were created specifically to protect member performers and have implemented regulations regarding pay scales, royalties and created contracts designed to best serve member performers.
SAG-AFTRA
SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) represents Actors and Voice-Over Artists in Film, TV, Video, Web and Radio.

Actors Equity
Actor's Equity represents Actors working in Theatre.
