We offer agents the ability to scout talent on our platform. This allows the agent to search the talent database for talent that they may like to offer representation to and open a dialogue in that regard via a scouting request. This article will provide a walk-through of the process and what it entails.
Scouting Talent
To begin the process of scouting talent you will need to log into your agent account and proceed to our Talent Database. Once you find someone you would like to send a scouting request to, you would click on 'Scout Talent' as seen below.
Before any talent can be scouted, the agent must go through a verification process in the interest of Trust & Safety. This will require the submission of some required verification documents. If an agent is unverified and attempts to scout talent, they will be prompted to go through the process via the pop-up shown here:
There is a small administrative fee of $10.00 to go through the user verification.
Once verification has been successfully completed, the scouting process can proceed. Please note that completion of verification can sometimes take 1-3 days.
Sending the Scouting Request
After being verified, clicking the 'Scout Talent' button as indicated above will bring up the request form:
You will need to write in a subject line that describes your intent. In the body of the form you should give the talent some background on your agency and why you are looking to represent them. Additionally, there is the ability to attach pertinent files if applicable. Once completed, click 'Send Request.' This will send the request to the talent.
If you like, you can view the scouting request from within your Roster Manager.
Managing the Scouting Request
After the scouting request has been sent the talent can either express interest in the request, message you for more information before indicating interest, or decline the request.
In the case below, the talent has expressed interest and is asking for more information. You can find this In such cases where the agent may need to go into more detail about plans, compensation, etc. using the 'Reply to message' button.
Sending a Roster Invite
After all relevant questions are answered and there appears interest in moving forward, you can proceed to the step of adding the talent to your roster. To send a request to add the talent to your roster, simply click on the 'Add to Roster' button.
That will bring up the following form where you can upload your contract and send out the roster invite.
Once the talent signs the contract and accepts the roster invite they will be added to your talent roster and you can now submit them for work.
Closing a Scouting Request
If the talent decides they are not interested in being represented, the agent will receive notification of this via messaging. It will also be indicated within the Roster Manager. Said talent will not be able to be contacted about representation any further.
You, the agent, can also close a scouting request if you so choose. This can be done by clicking on the 'Close Request' button seen below:
That will then bring up the 'Close Scouting Request' modal.
As can be seen above, you can optionally leave a message to the talent. Once 'Close Request' is pressed the talent can no longer contact you in regards to this scouting request.
Reopening the Request (if it was you who closed it)
If you should change your mind after you have closed a request, there is an option to reopen it. This can be done by clicking the 'Reopen Request' button, which in turn will bring up the 'Reopen this Scouting Request' modal.
Clicking 'Send and reopen' will allow the scouting request to pick up where it left off.
