Pre-Screen Questions

Sometimes it may be helpful to ask applicants some questions to submit answers to along with their application to your project. This can potentially help in determining whether a candidate is a good fit for the role to which they are applying. That being the case, we offer an option to create pre-screen questions to pose to applicants when creating a casting notice. This article will provide information on how to do so.

Creating Pre-Screen Questions for Roles

Within the Pre-Screen segment of the post a job workflow, beneath the Pre-Screen Recording section of the page, you will see the Pre-Screen Questions section. Please note this is optional to request and optional for the talent to choose to answer. There is a maximum of 3 questions that can be asked. To begin drafting questions you would click on the +Add button.

You will now be brought to the following page:

There are 2 question types that can be asked:

  • Yes/No

  • Short Answer

After selecting the question type you will be prompted to create the questions, select the role(s) the questions apply to, and preview what the questions will look like to the applicant. Click Save when finished with each one.

As can be seen in the second screenshot above depicting the short answer question type, short answer responses may not exceed 1,000 total characters.

Once the questions have been created you may edit, delete, or view them prior to clicking the Review button to move on in the job posting process.

After clicking the Review button you will be reminded that a question cannot be edited or deleted after a question has been answered by an applicant.

It is very important that you make sure the questions are as you want them prior to posting your job listing!

Viewing Submitted Answers

Answering pre-screen questions is optional, so some talent might initially apply without answering them (they could potentially do so at a later time).

In the Application Manager you can easily drill down on the results to view applicants who submitted answers by using the filters.

Additionally, you can filter by the questions and the answers given/whether or not they have provided an answer:
