If you are wondering how to edit or trim your video before you upload it to your profile or send in a self-tape audition, this article is here to provide some information about using some basic tools you likely have on your devices.
Using QuickTime
For Mac users, you would first open the QuickTIme Application (Applications/QuickTIme). Then:
- Click File/Open File and open the video you are looking to edit
- Click Edit/Trim
- Make the adjustments to the beginning and end yellow handles to set a part the section of the recording you want to keep
- Click Trim
Using Windows 10's Hidden Video Editor
For PC users, right-click on the video file you want to work with and select Open with > Photos. Then:
- Select the Trim button which you will see in the upper right of the screen
- Position the white sliders so that the part of the video you want to keep is between them
- Click Save a copy and give it a new name
Using the Photos app on iPhones or iPads
- Open the Photos app and then tap the video you want to trim
- Tap on Edit
- Put the yellow sliders where you want to change the start and stop times of your video (you can preview the trimmed video by tapping the play button)
- If satisfied, tap Done and then Save Video or Save Video as New Clip
Using Android Phones
- Open the Gallery app on your phone and tap on the video you are looking to trim
- Tap either the ellipsis or pencil icon and select the Trim option (depending on the phone you have)
- Move the sliders to the positions you want and then click Save when done
