Pre-Screens

To expedite the casting process, often times a casting director or hiring manager finds that requesting that an applicant submit a customized pre-screen recording aids in that goal. Adding a pre-screen to a role creates the opportunity for the job poster to start evaluating potential applicants quicker and can sometimes eliminate the need for further auditioning steps should a candidate stand out from the start. We offer the option to request an audio or video pre-screen after adding roles to a casting notice. Please see below for how to use this feature.

Adding a Pre-Screen to a Role

Once you come to the Pre-Screen section of the post a job workflow, you will be presented with the choice to request pre-screens per roles. Please note this is optional to request and optional for the talent to choose to submit. To select this option you would click on the +Add button.

You will then be brought to the pop up window below where you will note the type of pre-screen you are seeking (video or audio), provide any instructions you may have, attach the script sides, and select the pertinent role the pre-screen is for.

After doing that, simply click Save.

Viewing Submitted Pre-Screens

Pre-screen auditions are optional, so some talent might initially apply without including any custom media (they can always add a pre-screen audition later and/or you could always follow-up with another self-tape audition request).

However, in the Application Manager you can easily drill down on the results to only show applicants who have provided a pre-screen audition. To do this, click on the Filters button to bring up the filter options and then select Has Pre-Screen Audition and click View Results.

You can now either click on the media seen within the application marked "Pre-Screen" to play it or click on Pre-Screens & Auditions to be brought to the pre-screen by itself.
