To expedite the casting process, often times a casting director or hiring manager finds that requesting that an applicant submit a customized pre-screen recording aids in that goal. Adding a pre-screen to a role creates the opportunity for the job poster to start evaluating potential applicants quicker and can sometimes eliminate the need for further auditioning steps should a candidate stand out from the start. We offer the option to request an audio or video pre-screen when adding roles to a casting notice. Please see below for how to use this feature.
Adding A Pre-Screen To A Role
Once you come to the Roles section of the post a job workflow, you will be presented with the choice to request a pre-screen while creating the role. Please note this is optional to request and optional for the talent to choose to submit. To select this option you would click on the Add a Pre-Screen button.
You will then be brought to the pop up window below where you will note the type of pre-screen you are seeking (video or audio), provide any instructions you may have, and attach the script sides.
After doing that, simply finish creating the role and save.
Viewing Submitted Pre-Screens
Pre-screen auditions are optional, so some talent might initially apply without including any custom media (they can always add a pre-screen audition later and/or you could always follow-up with another self-tape audition request).
However, in the Application Manager you can easily drill down on the results to only show applicants who have provided a pre-screen audition. To do this, click on the Show All menu and choose Has Pre-Screen.
To view the applicant's pre-screens there are two options. First, you could click on either the Play Now or Add to Queue icons and that will pull up the Media Player.
Or secondly, you could click on the applicant to pull up their application. Under Roles & Auditions you will see the pre-screen that the applicant submitted.
To play the pre-screen, simply click on it or add it to the queue.
