Self-Tape Audition Requests

Our casting platform offers casting professionals and employers the ability to request, view, and organize self-taped auditions from talent who have submitted to your project through the Application Manager.

Requesting a Self-Tape Audition

To request a self-taped audition from talent on a per-applicant basis, you would go into the particular role in question within your Application Manager. Once you have found the talent you would like to audition, click on the ellipsis at the bottom right of the person's application card to bring up the option to request a self-tape.

You can also send requests to some or all applicants in bulk by clicking on Bulk Actions, ticking the check box in the top left of their applications, and then selecting Request Self-Tape Audition from the menu.

Once either has been done, first time users will first be told that this action will activate the Auditions tab for you.

After clicking Got It!, you will see the self-tape request modal. This will allow you to send a message to the talent where you can specifically request they submit either a Video or Audio audition, set a submission deadline if so desired, and attach notes or script sides for them.

Congratulations, you've successfully sent out a self-tape audition request!

Organizing Audition Requests

The Auditions Folder

Once you've requested a self-tape audition from talent they will automatically appear in the Auditions folder of your role's Application Manager where you can track the progress and organize your self-tape audition requests through the additional sub-folders.

The sub-folders are:

All: All applicants that you've requested an audition from are placed in this folder.

Requested: Applicants you've sent a self-tape audition request to.

Submitted: Applicants that you've received a self-tape from.

Declined Audition Requests

If an applicant has declined your request for a self-tape audition, they will be automatically moved to the No folder.

Requesting Self-Tape Auditions for Multiple Roles

There may be a performer who either applied to multiple roles in your production, declined your request to audition for a specific role, or after watching their tape you feel they'd be better suited for a different role. In such cases, you can request another self-tape for that other role.

If they've already applied to the other role, you can find the applicant there and click on the ellipsis on their application card. Then click on the Move Roles button.

If they have not applied to the other role you'd like to request an audition for, you'll need to first add them to that role.

Adding an Applicant to Multiple Roles

To add an applicant to a role other than the one they initially applied to, find their application, click on it to expand, navigate to the Details & Media tab, and then click Move Roles.

Select the role(s) you'd like to add them to, and click the Add To Roles button.

The talent will now be searchable under the role(s) you've added them to, and you can request the new audition by finding their application again under the new role and clicking the Request a Self-Tape button as mentioned at the beginning of this guide.

Outside of being sent the initial request(s) to audition, the applicants will not be automatically notified about your subsequent decisions. For instance, any decisions you make on an application such as Shortlists, No, and moving them to the Offer/Hire folder will not trigger any alerts to the applicants; your decisions are private.

To optionally follow up with the applicants about next steps, use the Messaging options to correspond with them directly.
