Casting directors and content creators can invite talent to audition for roles. The options include requesting an in-person, virtual, self-tape, or callback audition.
Finding the Audition Request (on the website)
If a request is sent, upon logging into your account you will be greeted by a modal letting you know you have an audition request. You can go directly to the Auditions folder and request by clicking on View Audition Requests.
You will also receive a notification in your Messages Inbox and on your My Applications page (you will also receive an email alerting you of the request).
On the Mandy website, this will look slightly different:
If you are responding to the request through the alert in your Messages Inbox, you can open the request by clicking the blue View audition request button after opening the message.
If clicking on the My Applications icon, you will be taken to your Auditions folder, where you can click on View audition request to open the request. In the Auditions folder you can see the production and when the audition was originally requested, the type of audition (in-person, virtual, self-tape, or callback), and the proposed audition date.
The Action Items bar at the top of your My Applications dashboard will also highlight if you have any audition requests that need your attention.
Responding to the Audition Request
In your My Applications dashboard, click the blue View Audition Request button to view the details of the request. If the request is for a self-tape audition, you’ll be able to upload your video/audio file on the spot.
And if the request is for an in-person, virtual, or callback audition, then you’ll be able to accept the request by confirming you can attend the audition at the listed date/time/location.
If you are not interested in auditioning, then you can decline the request. If you’re interested but you’re not available at the time being offered, then you can request to reschedule the audition for a different time.
Rescheduling an Audition Request
In some cases, you might be offered alternate audition dates/times to choose from when you request to reschedule an audition. However, in other cases your rescheduling request will need to be manually considered by the production. This varies depending on the project. Below is a screenshot showing the bottom end of the available times. There is an option to note that none of the times work and to propose other times and/or dates.
In some instances a production may need to change or cancel their auditions. In this case you’ll also receive a message notifying you of the changes, such as a change to the time, date, or location. If rescheduling is required, then you’ll see a View Reschedule Request button in your My Applications dashboard’s Auditions folder; click that button to see the updated audition details, and then confirm whether or not you can still attend at the new date/time/location being offered.
Once an audition request has been confirmed, you will be greeted by a confirmation modal:
