Backstage is connecting Buyers with Content Creators in an easy, direct, and seamless fashion. Please see the article below for step-by-step information on receiving deliverable requests, fulfilling them, and getting paid for the completed work. Also be sure to check out the helpful FAQ included at the bottom of the article.
Receiving a Request for Content
After logging into your Backstage account you can see if you have an order in your Dashboard.
Click on Orders & Payments to see it. That will bring you here:
Click the black on white caret to the right to open the request.
Here you will see that you have 72 hours to accept the request. You can view the request by clicking on See Details.
You may accept the order by clicking the green checked button or decline by clicking the orange X button. Or if you have questions before making a decision you can send the requester a message via the Comments field.
Accepting the request will bring up the following pop-up:
You must read and agree to both the UGC Payment Terms and the UGC License & Content Agreement to proceed.
Once this has been done, you now have until the deliverable due date to send in the asset to the purchaser.
Please note that in order to be able to be paid, you must create a payment account through Stripe. This can be done when the request is initially sent which we strongly encourage you to do. Simply click on the Payment icon to being the process. Instructions on how to create the payment account can be found here.
To send it over, first click on the Upload button within the request:
Then upload the asset:
Now click Submit Assets:
This will now move the order to the Under Review By Recipient folder.
At this point the requester will review what has been sent over. If revisions are requested, that will be made apparent through messaging and the request will be sent back to the Awaiting Action From Me folder where the asset will need to be re-worked, re-uploaded, and re-sent.
At the point in time that the requester accepts the asset, payment will be sent to you and the order will move to the Paid folder within the dashboard.
Receiving Payment
Again, in order to receive payment, you must create a payment account through Stripe. This can be done when the request is initially sent which we strongly encourage you to do. Simply click on the Payment icon to being the process.
Instructions on how to create the payment account can be found here.

Usage & Ownership: How it Works
To keep things simple and fair, all projects on Backstage follow a standard rights agreement unless you negotiate a custom buyout:
You Own the Work: You retain the Copyright (ownership) of every video and photo you produce.
The Brand’s Usage Pass: By completing a project, you grant the Brand an Exclusive License to use your content:
Paid Ads (6 Months): Brands can use your content for Spark Ads, Meta Ads, and other paid promotions for 6 months.
Organic Use (12 Months): Brands can use your content on their website, email, and social feeds for 12 months.
The Timeline: The clock starts the moment payment is released to you.
Your Likeness: You give the Brand permission to use your name, voice, and face within these specific assets perpetually so they don't have to delete old social media posts once the ad window closes.
Why this is great for you:
You aren't signing away your rights forever. If a brand’s ad performs well, they will need to come back to you to pay for a renewal after the initial 6-month window.
